Day 4 Finish

As you can see I finally got Day 4 finished. I just absolutely love the colors in these. I have started Day 5. I thought I was going to have to wait because I can't find the material I cut and prepared to do days 5 to 8 but I found a piece of material and cut and prepared it for stitching and was able to start. I am finding that these make me just want to keep stitching every chance I get.

On another note. I just talked to my mom and found out that a friend of the family and someone who we cared so much about. We grew up with his kids and he was just a very good man passed away yesterday. From what my mother told me he went to the hospital at 5 in the morning with a aortic aneurysm and didn't survive the surgery. This is heartbreaking. I just don't know what to say about this. I will think on this for awhile and see what I come up with.

Day 3

Even though I was sick and from what I am told, extremely grumpy, this past weekend I was able to finish day 3. Don, Gretchen and me moved a chair that I could recline in and rest into my room where I do all my crafts. I stitched off and on Friday night and Saturday and got day 3 done. I was a lot further along than I thought so that helped. I also did just a bit on day 4 yesterday, I started feeling better. Thank God for antibiotics, lol. I feel a bit better today but not 100%. I can't believe how fast these are going. Day 4 is going to be even quicker I think. It seems like there may be less stitching to day 4. Kathy, thank you for the get well wish I appreciated it very much. Well I am supposed to be working so I should get back to work but I will keep you posted.

Progress

Well here it is Friday night. I am about half done with day 3. I finally checked the name of the designer for the scissors patterns. Meridel Abrams. I think I have all the scissors patterns not just the 12 Days of Christmas. I am hoping to get a lot of stitching done this weekend but we will see. I am sick. I have an ear infection and sore throat and a low grade fever. i sure hope it stays low grade. I am taking an antibiotic so we will see what happens.
Don got back from his business trip. He brought me a mini New York New York statue. It is pretty neat. He also brought me a polo shirt with the logo on it. I really love them. I will post a photo of them when I take one. I haven't taken one of my progress yet because I just don't feel like it. I keep trying to lay down but I can't seem to be comfortable, so I figured I would post here and them try laying down again.
Well I think I am gonna try now so I will post more when I feel better, hopefully the meds will kick in soon and I will feel more like it. And on Monday I think I will thank Monica (one of Don's CSR's) for giving this to me.

Day 2 Finish

As you can see I got Day 2 finished over the weekend. I also managed to start day 3. It seems that lately I am only able to stitch on the weekend. This past weekend I didn't really do too much anyway. I didn't feel like it. It was one of those weekends. Don is in Las Vegas for a business trip and Gretchen and I just hung out at home. I keep trying to get her to try cross stitch but she isn't cooperating LOL. I am trying to get her into something that she can see an accomplishment. I think she needs something like that but she doesn't seem to want to do any of that stuff. Oh well. I am also hoping that I will hear from my son in the near future. At the end of August Melissa will be heading to basic and AIT for the ARMY National Guard. I sometimes find it hard to believe that my kids are adult age. I sure don't feel like I am old enough to have kids their ages but according to my birth certificate I am, LOL. Well I must get some work done so that's it for now. I hope everyone has a great week.

Day 2 Progress

Well as you can see I have been working on day 2. It is coming along nicely I think. These stitch up so quickly. I love them. I see the progress and don't get discouraged because it doesn't seem to be getting anywhere. I am thinking that maybe I will try and put them into a quilt or something like that. We will see how that goes.

It has been so hot lately so I have been able to sit and stitch. Last night I sat outside on the back patio and and there was a slight breeze. It was nice to be able to do that. We are supposed to get thunderstorms for the next couple of days but I am not counting on it. It would be nice though. Well that is all for now. Can't wait for the finished product.

Day 1 Finish

I got Day 1 finished yesterday. I really like the way it turned out. The only thing different that I did was change the year from 2006 to 2007 since I am doing it this year. I started Day 2 yesterday evening.
On another note yesterday was July 4th. It was pretty uneventful. It was strange having a day off in the middle of the week but on the other hand it makes the week seem shorter. We work today and tomorrow and are off for 2 days. I think I can deal with that.
We are supposed to have thunderstorms today. I hope so. The sky is getting dark so maybe. We quite often have them predicted especially at this time of the year but then don't get them. I just feel like it would be nice to clean up the air. We will see what happens. Hope you all had a good 4th of July. Will update again soon.

More progress

I was lucky enough to be able to stitch a bunch this weekend. As you can see I got a lot accomplished. I am really motivated on this. I really like the colors so maybe that is why. I am looking forward to getting going on day 2. These seem to stitch up quickly. No back stitching which I like. On these I don't think they would look as nice if there was back stitching.

I am trying to convince my daughter who is visiting to let me teach her to stitch. To give her something creative and constructive to do but I can't seem to get her interested. Wish I could but maybe she will keep seeing how much I love it and give in. We will see. We thought my other daughter was going to come for a visit before she leaves this summer for basic and AIT for the ARMY National Guard but doesn't look like that is going to happen. Oh well, she says she wants to spend Christmas with me so hopefully that will happen. I will keep my fingers crossed. Maybe I will be able to get the whole crew together for a change. I would love that.
